The game follows the adventures of Tails as he tries to save an island from Witchcart, who claims to be able to turn dissenters into crystals with her magic. It is one of two handheld games on the Game Gear to feature Sonic's sidekick Miles "Tails" Prower as the main character. She then heads off with her henchmen, and Tails, determined to stop her, chases after them. She declares herself to be the great Wendy Witchcart, and claims the island and everything on it as her own, threatening to transform any dissidents into crystal. While initially appearing to be uninhabited, he eventually comes upon an old woman. The game came to other territories as an unlockable minigame in the GameCube version of Sonic Adventure DX and as one of the Sonic Gems Collection titles.While flying his plane, Tails discovers a small island and lands to investigate. ![]() Robotnik do not show up, nor are there any rings to collect during the levels. He wears a golden ring that is used to eliminate enemies or to attach to devices. Tails has to defeat enemies and overcome obstacles. The gameplay is quite similar to that of the Sonic series. Tails, determined to save all the animals on the island, sets off in pursuit of the witchcart. She proclaims that everything on the island is hers and threatens to turn anyone who doesn't follow her rules into crystal. The passing silver cart is driven by a woman claiming to be Wendy Witchcart. Upon landing on the island, a cart approaches and Tails hides in the bushes. It appears to be completely abandoned, except for the tracks of a mining cart. Tails' Skypatrol is the first solo adventure of Sonic's sidekick Tails in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and was only released in Japan.
